EdgeVitals Mission
EdgeVitals’ rVSM (Remote Vital Signs Monitoring) solution aims at addressing global healthcare challenges, including workforce shortages, projected to be 4.1 million professionals in the EU by 2030, rising of chronic diseases which account for 71% of deaths globally (Source: European Commission), and healthcare access in underserved regions.
Our mission is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (i.e. Goal 3: good health and well-being, and Goal 10: reducing inequalities).
Milestones and Achievements

CHUV Lausanne Hospital and Innosuisse Collaboration
Collaborated with CHUV Lausanne Hospital and Innosuisse to collect vital signs data, laying the foundation for the creation of the rVSM app.

IEEE Paper Published
Published a paper in IEEE detailing innovative face tracking methodologies, which became a critical component of the rVSM solution.

Multi-platform robust system established
Successfully deployed the rVSM solution on iOS, Astra Machina platforms, and Raspberry Pi, demonstrating its versatility and robustness across multiple platforms.

rVSM Validation Project
Completed phase one of rVSM Validation Project with CHUV Lausanne Hospital and Valais Hospitals, demonstrating medical grade accuracy for the Heart Rate Feature (±3 bpm accuracy in 90% of patients).

Innovation Cheque Grant Awarded
Awarded the Innovation Cheque Grant from InnoSuisse for the initial validation of the rVSM technology.


Patent filed with European Patent Office
Filed a patent with the European Patent Office for the innovative technology that enhances the robustness of existing rPPG technology against noise, such as light changes or movement.

Daniel Kaempf
Successful entrepreneur with 20 years of experience managing companies and leading digital transformation across various industries. In 2016, Daniel founded Darwin Digital to help businesses transition to the digital age. Now, as the CEO of EdgeVitals, he leads the company in delivering in delivering Edge AI healthcare solutions.

Miljan Vuletic
Computer engineer specialized in AI applications for edge devices. He holds a Dr. es Sc. degree from EPFL and a B.Sc.E.E. from the University of Belgrade. His expertise spans embedded software, signal processing, AI/ML model training, and hardware design, with multiple patents in computer architecture and VLSI to his name.

Patrik Schoettker
Professor and Head of the department of Anesthesiology at the CHUV University Hospital (Lausanne, Switzerland). He is the inventor of various airway devices, holds various patents and strong advocate of public-private partnerships.

Javier Dominguez
Senior AI Project Manager with over 20 years of experience managing complex AI, web, and IT integration projects. A PMP Certified Practitioner and Scrum Master, Javier specializes in leading custom application development and digital transformation initiatives. He creates innovative technology strategies that drive operational efficiency and measurable business outcomes.

Anna Alfieri
Holding a master’s degree in business analytics and experience leading marketing teams in both publicly traded companies and startups, Anna combines her technical background with practical marketing expertise to support EdgeVitals’s business growth.
